School Counselor

kacey.evans@hopkins.kyschools.us

My name is Kacey Evans.  I began my teaching career in August 2009 in middle school social studies.  I taught middle school for 6 years before becoming a middle school counselor and then an elementary school counselor in October 2020.  I am married and have two boys.  For fun I like to travel, read, and play outside with my family.

I received my Master's Degree and Rank I in School Counseling from Eastern Kentucky University.  After receiving my degree in middle grades education, I knew that I wanted to further my education and become a school counselor because of the influence mine had on me in school.

As part of the administrative team at Grapevine, my role is to help maximize student success, by promoting access and equity for all students.  I help students apply academic achievement strategies, manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills, and introduce postsecondary options to students even in elementary school.

I am also the Building Assessment Coordinator, Gifted and Talented Coordinator, and 504 chairperson for our school.

I love my job, my students, my staff, and being a Wildcat!
